Early Sunday morning, Magic Kingdom’s Circle K clubs began a continuation of a service from the past week's DLSSP South (District Large Scale Service Project) at an organization called “Veterans First”. Veterans First is an organization that provides housing for transitioning veterans, and also provides a great amount of help such as housing, food, care, transportation and such to veterans. The service we did at the organization was cleaning the houses and gardening work, to make the area a clean and healthy environment for those living in it.

As we had entered the building, it was quite dirty and dusty but after the hours of service from many hard workers from CSUF, OCC, IVC, Saddleback, UCI, SAC, and GWC Circle K, it was made into a healthy and clean space. As we had cleaned the kitchen, living room, the front yard as well as cleaning out their storage, it definitely made the area a better living environment.

Through the hard work done, I know from their smiles that they were joyful to see so many young students coming in on a Sunday, spending their time off from school and just helping them in any way possible. It was a wonderful service event, as we were able to give back to the men and women who gave up their lives to protect us. Even though it’s so small compared to what they had sacrificed for us, it was great knowing that we were able to give back in some way or another.
